Default improveMeshQuality disrupt boundary layer

Hi all!
I' ve noticed an issue with cfMesh. Basically when I run improveMeshQuality boundary layer are completely modified (overall layers thickness is increased ) even if quality parameter are improved.
Do you have experienced the same behaviour?
