Hello

I hereby give you a parametric propeller tutorial using AMI's and pimpleDyMFoam.

All the parameters of the 3D propeller geometry can be set in the Mesh/SalomeGeometry.py file.

github link

I use simple skew angle, pitch angle and coord scaling to obtain a propeller.
those are set using control points on a line and those lines can be modified as desired.

This could be extended to use the Wageningen B-Series description of propellers, but that is not nearly as flexible as this method.

You can generate your own profiles using Xfoil and export them into txt file using the psav command.

The geometry generation should be fairly robust, although i have not tested all facets.

Hello Mr.Linnemann

I was able to get this to run. Would it be easy enough to transpose the geometry in this setup to use it for a vertical axis wind turbine simulation?
