I have an issue trying to compile OpenFoam-dev from sources.
I have compiled Paraview prior to that. Here is what I have:

I managed to install it.

By following the open foam wiki page instructions, given here:
https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/I...u#Ubuntu_14.04

I followed the ubuntu 14.04 procedure (mine is 15.04). Had an issue with a " missing GMP library" but resolved that using Google.

I wonder what was the issue with following the opefoam.org link in the first take.

The problem here seems at first to be that you should have exited from root mode before downloading/unpacking the packages that have the OpenFOAM and ThirdParty source code.
Then again, the specific problem is that the OpenFOAM environment was not loaded in as explained here: https://openfoam.org/download/source...g-environment/

That's very strange... there should not have been any issues with the missing GMP library... the instructions on that wiki page include "libgmp-dev" in the package list to be installed... perhaps you didn't do step #3 from that wiki page?
