Hello everyone,

I am interested in working with the new solver potentialFreeSurfaceFoam which can be found at OF v.2.1.0. However, I am using v.2.0.1 in which this solver does not exist. My question is if there is any possibility to download the solver separately and compile it to 2.0.1 version instead of compiling again from scratch OF v.2.1.0. I am not very skilled with c++ but I can work things out. I would appreciate any kind of help. Thanks in advance!

Greetings Nickolas

I haven't tried and I have my doubts that what you want to do will work. What do the features indicate on each version of OpenFOAM?

Nonetheless, you can get the source code for the application manually (file by file, use the "raw" links) from here: https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-2.1.x/
This is if you don't want to download the whole tarball/zip file.

Then adjust things similarly to this tutorial: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Ho...ure_to_icoFoam

Good luck!
Bruno

Greetings Bruno,

I wasn't aware of the github url you have sent me and yes! this is what I was looking for! I know in a sense how things work with opefoam concerning the c++ openfoam coding but you know, I m still on the process of learning. Thanks for the fast response. Be sure that I will bother you if I have any major glitches going on!
