Can anyone provide a list of instructions on installing OpenFoam 2.3.0 on a cluster running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64) operating system?

We tried the instructions for OpenSUSE listed on OpenFoam.org, but it was unable to build OpenFOAM executables. Updating the operating system is not an option at this point.

Thank you in advance for your help.

And then there is getting a compatible Openmpi (and Infiniband?)
are you using gcc 4.7? thats a requirement for 2.3

I don't have full control of the cluster, I'm just being allowed to use it.

Its currently running gcc (SUSE Linux) 4.3.4. If it is going to be doable with gcc 4.7, I'll try to update it. Is this my main problem?

I appreciate any help on this issue. Thanks.

Greetings to all!

A compatibility matrix on GCC to OpenFOAM versions is being kept here: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/In...ibility_Matrix

@sherif35: Yes, GCC 4.3.4 is too old for OpenFOAM 2.3. Either you will need to ask the system administrator to install a more recent GCC version or try following these instructions: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/In...EL#CentOS_5.10 - they are meant for CentOS 5.10, so try starting at the step #5.

Best regards,
Bruno
