Installation problems with OpenFOAM 2.3.x for Windows from cfdsupport.com

Hi everyone!

I am experiencing problems while trying to install OpenFOAM on my laptop. I have Windows 7 64bit. When I arrive to step 3 (Install Cygwin64) I cannot go beyond point 7. I have installed cygwin64 correctly and I have created the folder opt/OpenFOAM in which I've copied the two dir.tar.gz files mentioned in the instructions (http://www.cfdsupport.com/install-op...r-windows.html). When I run Cygwin.bat and try to extract the files by typing cd/opt/OpenFOAM I receive the following message: "No such file or directory". I've tried to type /opt/OpenFOAM and in this way the directory is located, but when I try to type the two following commands for extracting the packages I receive the following message "Function "open" failed to function: No such file or directory".
What should I do?
Thanks in advance!

Nikola

Or you could share the answer, because you're not the only one trying to use their port of OpenFOAM for Windows, as you can see here: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...pport-com.html ;)

I am having this exact issue. Do you recall what your solution was?

Hi! As long as I recall, I was making some really stupid mistake while typing the code. I think it was this one, but I am not sure. Be carefull and type cd /opt/OpenFOAM instead of cd/opt/OpenFOAM.

That doesn't seem to be it, but thanks for your quick reply.

I've installed it many times, if you can be more specific I may help you!

Actually that was the problem. I didn't realize that you NEED the space after "cd". Thanks for your help!
