OpenFOAM 1.6-ext

Hi, hopefully someone can help me or redirect me to the right place.

To outline my problem.

I work with a cloud provider and a client has asked us to create a cluster with an OpenFOAM 1.6-ext deployment. To my understanding that it has to be this version due to an extension they are using.

For various reasons ive been forced to use IntelMPI rather than OpenMPI, and have searched for a nice simple outline of how to build OpenFOAM with this in mind (ive never used OpenFOAM before, thats not my skillbase..)

I found this resource

http://www.hpcadvisorycouncil.com/pd..._Practices.pdf

I modified the settings.sh and bashrc files as described, but the build just fails..

If someone is able point me in the right direction i would be grateful (if this is just plain not possible that would be very useful info too)
Thanks

Hi David,

I have just tried to build 1.6-ext on our Ubunru machine and it works without problems. The most sensitive place is third party so I would advise you to build is stage-by-stage and see where the problem is.

I have 2 alternatives:
- if you really cannot build,Wikk can provide a custom binary pack for you
- you could spark to your client and have us upgrade the feature which is stopping them form following version upgrades. With foam-extend-3.2 this will be easy

Good luck,

Hrv

Hi, thanks for taking a look into this. We have previously built this on ubuntu, well a colleague did so. My problems is building it on SLES 12 against IntelMPI. I see in subsequent releases this is supported, but not for 1.6-ext. I made the adjustments outlined in the off I found but could not get it to build successfully. (on phone, sorry for short reply..)
