Finally! At least ParaView is now built and installed with success!

Code:

cd $FOAM_UTILITIES/postProcessing/graphics/PV4Readers 
wmSET $FOAM_SETTINGS

which paraview

./Allwclean 
./Allwmake

"which paraview" should tell you the right place where it's installed.
And Allwmake should now work as intended!

If in post #13 I wasn't in such a hurry, I perhaps might have noticed that this:

Code:

rm -r platforms/linux64Gcc48/ParaView-4.1.0/

would fail to work properly if "ParaView-4.1.0" was a file and not a folder. The slash at the end explicitly looks for a folder named "ParaView-4.1.0" and not a file

.
This is one of several reasons why OpenFOAM is so picky about every single detail, given that GNU/Linux is also very picky about these kinds of details
