OK. Thanks a a lot
So now I am trying to install OpenFOAM 4.0. I am at the compilation stage. I have a couple of queries. Is it necessary to have ParaView. If yes, could you please provide bit more detailed steps on how to compile it. I tried by first changing directory to folder "/OpenFOAM/ThirdParty-4.0" and then typing
Code:
./makeParaView
I recieved
Code:
 ./makeParaView: 36: ./makeParaView: wmakeCheckPwd: not found
Error: Current directory is not $WM_THIRD_PARTY_DIR
The environment variables are inconsistent with the installation.
Check the OpenFOAM entries in your dot-files and source them.
But when I run
Code:
echo $WM_THIRD_PARTY_DIR
I get
Code:
 /home/rishabh/OpenFOAM/ThirdParty-4.0
which is indeed my current directory
Also, I am tried to compile OpenFOAM without ParaView. I type
Code:
 ./Allwmake
which gives me
Code:
./Allwmake: 7: .: Can't open /home/rishabh/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-4.0/wmake/scripts/AllwmakeParseArguments

Quick answer:
  1. I've moved your post from http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...-failed-2.html to a new thread, given the other thread is for OpenFOAM 3.0.1.
  2. Detailed installation instructions are provided here: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/In...u#Ubuntu_16.04
