[OpenFOAM.com] v1706 having difficulties getting started and unable to locate folders

Hello all!!
When I try to open OpenFOAM_Start I get the following message.
What should I do?

Hello NEWBIE WITH LINUX HERE!!!!!

I am having problems with the openfoam file directory. I can not find the applications folder anywhere! My opt folder is empty (I am running ubuntu on vmware). When I run OpenFOAM (./startOpenFOAM) and type the location of solvers folder at bash-4.2$ $FOAM_SOLVERS it returns
bash: /opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1706/applications/solvers: Is a directory
bash-4.2$

but when I try to find it via files I can't because as I said opt folder is empty!
and also when I type the location at a new terminal it says no such file or directory.

I am totaly frustrated. Your help will be deaply appreciated!!!!
