[OpenFOAM.com] v1712 on Ubuntu 18.04: "no completion added"

Hi

I am installing OpenFOAM v1712 on Ubuntu 18.05 and get this error:

No completion added for /home/arslan/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1712/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin

can anyone guide me? it would be really helpful.

This is just a little misleading - see https://develop.openfoam.com/Develop...lus/issues/719

This occurs before OpenFOAM has been compiled and thus no solvers or utilities are available. An additional comment will be emitted in v1806

Code:

    incorrect platform, or not yet compiled?

The remaining confusion, that bash completions are only available with bash >= 4.2, has been left as a code comment rather than being emitted to the screen. The rationale being that if your bash is too old (eg, on a cluster installation) it is not useful to have these messages each and every time you login.
