Error in compiling openfoam on centos server
 

Hi All and thanks for your great forum
i want to compile openfoam on centos -7(server mode), i'v done this on ubuntu and every thing was fineو, but when i want to compile on centos, i receive this error:
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lengine
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
os:centos-7(server)
arch:x86_64
note that there is no error before i get this error during compiling.

Can you post more information?


I run OpenFOAM exclusively on CentOS and have not really had any problems. My main issues focus on my mistyping or PEBKAC errors.


With a cannot find error two things spring to mind:

1. Double check your paths so that the linker can search
2. Was there an error previously in the compilation such that the engine library that can't be found was not actually compiled?

Thanks for your reply, i removed all i downloaded and re installed again, i followed:

and it's now running well.
