[Other] ParaView 5.4 freezing after start on ubuntu 18

Hi,

last week I installed ubuntu 18 from scratch and build openfoam. Openfoam is working nice but running paraview with paraview --mesa & starts the application, which is freezing soon. If I run without --mesa, its the same. Looks like that:

Does anybody has an idea? I also installed paraview once standalone and was able to run it correctly. But now paraView (with a capital V) is not found anymore (why ever).

Quick answer and a few questions:

paraFoam has the upper case 'F', but 'paraView' was never a standard command, only paraview. So my guess is that either you're mixing the two or you had an alias or script with the upper case 'V'?
Which specific OpenFOAM version did you build?
Which installation instructions did you follow for compiling/installing OpenFOAM and ParaView?
Are you referring to Ubuntu 18.04 or 18.10?
Which installation instructions did you follow to build the Mesa libraries in order to use paraview --mesa?
