What is the best linux based OS for OpenFoam? Or any recommendations? I am currently on windows and I have ran into too many problems so I'm making the switch to linux.
I have some experience with Ubuntu but I have heard of some problems with Paraview.. If I was to go with Ubuntu, any advice on which version to go with?

Thanks

IMHO, any Linux distro should be fine. Having said that, afaik, OpenFOAM versions are being developed within OpenSUSE.

Therefore, if you don't have any preference, and if you are not afraid of experimenting a new OS, I would kindly suggest OpenSUSE (the versions being maintained).

FWIW, I run OF7 and OFv1906 with Paraview 5.6 in Ubuntu 18.04.

A Qt version mismatch error that I and others have seen on building Paraview 5.6 in Ubuntu 18.04 is solved: Qt5, OpenFOAM-7 and -v1906, and Ubuntu 18.04.

Good luck.
