How to install metis package on OpenFoam
 

I am trying to use OpenFOAM and installing Metis package on it. I installed OpenFOAM.5 on Ubuntu 14.04 but I don't know how to install metis on it. could you please help me? I need a step by step guide since I am totally new in Ubuntu and OpenFOAM.

You need to download Metis into the ThirdParty directory, and do let OpenFOAM know about Metis via the setting file in $FOAM/etc/config.sh/<metisFileIDontRememberItsExactName>

Then, I assume OpenFOAM will automatically pick up Metis.

Just go to $FOAM, and redo ./Allwmake to trigger the OpenFOAM installation again.
