I am trying to install openFoam-v6 on Ubuntu 18.04, but I get an error while following step 7 of the procedure given on https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/I...nFOAM-6/Ubuntu, i.e. when I enter:

source $HOME/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-6/etc/bashrc WM_LABEL_SIZE=64 FOAMY_HEX_MESH=yes

I get this error:
gcc: error: unrecognized command line option ‘--showme:link’; did you mean ‘--force-link’?

Please help.

Try OpenFOAM v1906 then, which has more functionalities anyways.

How did you "install" OpenFOAM?
The binary packages (Ubuntu, Redhat, opensuse) preconfigure the values, otherwise you need to have 'mpicc' available (eg, open-mpi devel package)
