Installation on archlinux: Docker image vs compile from source
Hi to all,
I'm using archlinux and I would like to install openfoam.org. I have two option: 1) use the docker image 2) compile from source (there is an AUR PKGBUILD). Is there any difference when executing? I think that the docker image could be more "stable"* and easier to update, but I do not know if there is any performance or usability issue when using it. Can you help me choosing the correct way to install, please? * being archlinux a rolling release and being openfoam not included in the official repository, it is possible that after updating a dependency a recompilation of Openfoam is required |
