Hi all

I have some troubles getting to connect with X servers (both Xming, VcXsrv) whilst installing openfoam version 8 from openfoam.org.

I've followed the guide here:https://openfoam.org/download/windows/ and have successfully installed openfoam. Running the simpleFoam -help shows the different options for using simpleFoam.

So far so good.

I've downloaded, installed and runned Xming server as well as gedit.
Then i used following command:
echo "export DISPLAY=:0" >> ${HOME}/.bashrc
. $HOME/.bashrc

and tried to run "gedit &" with the following response:

"raiw@PC131996:~$ Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused

(gedit:17575): Gtk-WARNING **: 18:17:29.141: cannot open display: :0"

Then i tried xhost +, although nothing but this result:

"raiw@PC131996:~$ xhost +
xhost: unable to open display ":0"

Also paraview cannot be displayed.

Anyone with advise on how to solve this?

Yes, I figured that out... No idea why i didn't think of that straight away. Might have been a case of tunnel vision.

Thanks for a quick reply !
