OpenFOAM | Permission denied
 

Hello,

I'm having a trouble on opening the new files that I create into directories. I have followed the installation instructions from a "How to install OpenFOAM and run a simulation in Windows 10 in 2020 - tutorial" video by Jozsef Nagy so I'm running OpenFoam via Ubuntu in windows 10. In my attempt to complete the first tutorial of the "First glimpse" series, when I create a file into the correct path and run the tutorial, I get the message "ls: cannot open directory '.': Permission denied". What could possibly solve this problem?

It seems, that you don't have the privilege to work with this directory. try to use chown (https://superuser.com/questions/4300...folders-and-fi)

thanks for your response. I have tried various methods to fix that including the one you mentioned but nothing seems to work...I will try to work in ubuntu via oracle virtual box this time to see how this goes.
