OpenFOAM141dev installation error (bashrc file)

Hello foamers,

I just downloaded the svn package for OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev yesterday and tried to compile it. (I am using a linux x86_64) However, when I typed the following command:

. ~/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/.OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/bashrc

I got the following error:

ksh: /users/V1117324/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/.bashrc[107]: too many files open in shell
Executing: /users/V1117324/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/.OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/apps/ensightFoam/bashrc
Executing: /users/V1117324/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/.OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/apps/paraview/bashrc
Executing: /users/V1117324/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/.OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/apps/dxFoam/bashrc
ksh: /users/V1117324/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/.OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/bashrc[275]: can't create pipe - try again

That is very strange because I managed to compile OpenFOAM-1.5-dev without problem. Does anyone know why I have too many files open in shell? Does somenone know what I should do to make it run? Thank you very much!

Hello foamers,

just a quick precision to say that I commented out the lines

#SOURCE $WM_PROJECT_DIR/$FOAM_DOT_DIR/apps/ensightFoam/bashrc
#SOURCE $WM_PROJECT_DIR/$FOAM_DOT_DIR/apps/paraview/bashrc
#SOURCE $WM_PROJECT_DIR/$FOAM_DOT_DIR/apps/dxFoam/bashrc
#SOURCE $WM_PROJECT_DIR/$FOAM_DOT_DIR/apps/ParaView3/bashrc

in the OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/.OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/bashrc file,

but I still get the following error:

ksh: /users/V1117324/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/.bashrc[107]: too many files open in shell
ksh: /users/V1117324/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/.OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/bashrc[275]: can't create pipe - try again

Hello again,

sorry for having spammed your mail box, but I have found what the problem was. In fact, my OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/.bashrc and OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/.OpenFOAM-1.4.1-dev/bashrc files were sourcing one another indefinitely.
