Dear Foamer,
I downloaded the software from the website. And followed the readme file to decompress all the files in the folder OpenFOAM and add the line . $HOME/OpenFoam/OpenFoam-1.5/etc/bashrc at the end of the file in the directory of my folder. At first, I just wanted to try the binary version without compilation. So I excute "fomaInstallationTest" to check my installation. And then it said "Base sysmte is ok", "critical system is ok". Then I copy the tutorial and run the three commands to run the cavity example see what happens. 1.first type blockMesh, fine. Mesh generated; 2.Type Icofoma, but with error of convergence times; 3. Then I type paraFoam, wa, a GUI interface appeared, however, it then gave me a warning that " A reader for cavity.openfoam couldn't be found" Then I've to close the window. I don't what's going and the same problems occur on an Opensuse 11.0. I'm quite a newbie, can any kind person help me? 3. |

You can simply recompile the reader, if you are lucky enough!
Try to go in the OpenFOAM installation directory: OpenFOAM-1.5/applications/utilities/postProcessing/graphics/PV3FoamReader then, call ./Allwmake and cross your fingers... Francesco |
