openfoam commands "urgent help"
I have installed openfoam 1.70 and I have added the line into the last line of ".bashrc" but in terminal the commands are not recognized. can someone help me, plz.
in addition to this, all files are secured by ownership of "root" and their owner must be changed in order to be manipulated. how owner of all sub folder of one folder can simply change without manually changing them one by one.(I use "chown" in order to change the owner of those files)

Greetings mhassani,

Quite simple, the chown command has a -R option to recursively change permissions. Same goes for chmod. For example, in Ubuntu, using the Debian packages:

sudo chown -R username:username /opt/openfoam170
When in doubt, use the man command for help. Example:

man chown
Or, sometimes, the command itself has help information in it:

chown --help
Best regards,
