"Couldn't find package openfoam170"

Hi,

I'm trying to install OF on Ubuntu 10.04 lucid according to the instructions at www.openfoam.com. Unfortunately I can't seem to complete steps 4 and 5 successfully, i.e. "apt-get install openfoam170" and "apt-get install paraviewopenfoam380" respectively. The Terminal's response is: "E: Couldn't find package openfoam170".

It would be awesome if you could help me figure out how to get the program installed alright.

That's odd, it should have worked without a flaw!
OK, lets try to isolate the problem:

What does this show you:

Code:

tail /etc/apt/sources.list

Does it have near the end, a line with just:

Code:

deb http://www.openfoam.com/download/ubuntu lucid main

Did you do all of the steps in the same terminal? You didn't forget to do steps one and three, did you?

Thank you Bruno! I'm very exited about exploring the possibilities of CFD, and OpenFOAM in particular.

Thanks to you, I discovered a typ-o ("..lucid mail" instead of "..lucid main").

The installation is now finished!
