Dear Bruno

Thank you for replying,

It's always great to get a quick response.

As a final request would you be able to suggest any member of the cfd-online community who you would recommend to have the expertise to answer such a boundary condition question?

Kind regards,

James

Sorry, no idea :(
Asking in the correct forum helps getting answers faster; providing as many details as possible also improves the possibility of getting an answer. Best part is that when we describe a problem to the fullest, the solution can become almost as clear as crystal clear water.

Hoping someone will have the time to chat with you to ask for more details, will unlikely get you any results :(. Keep in mind that those with the most knowledge, are usually those who have the most responsibilities and the least time.

Hi James,

And finally I've managed to write and test the instructions. Have a look at the following pages, for OpenFOAM 1.5 and 1.5.x:
I tested on 32 and 64-bit versions of Ubuntu 12.04.

edit: I forgot to mention something about "alternateSteadyReactingFoam": it looks like a pretty complicated solver, specially because it depends on Cantera. Try contacting the original authors about this. Good luck!

Dear Bruno,

I'm trying to install OpenFoam 1.5 on my computer (Ubuntu 12.04, 64-bit), following the steps on:
http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/In...OAM-1.5/Ubuntu

Since I'm a new Ubuntu & OpenFoam user, I haven't been able to figure out why I'm getting an error at step 7 (for x86_64), when I run the command:
> source etc/bashrc

I got this error:
bash: /opt/OpenFOAM-1.5/bin/foamEtcFile: No such file or directory
bash: /opt/OpenFOAM-1.5/bin/foamCleanPath: No such file or directory
bash: /opt/OpenFOAM-1.5/bin/foamCleanPath: No such file or directory
bash: /opt/OpenFOAM-1.5/bin/foamCleanPath: No such file or directory
bash: /opt/OpenFOAM-1.5/etc/settings.sh: No such file or directory
bash: /opt/OpenFOAM-1.5/etc/aliases.sh: No such file or directory
bash: /opt/OpenFOAM-1.5/bin/foamEtcFile: No such file or directory
bash: /opt/OpenFOAM-1.5/bin/foamEtcFile: No such file or directory
bash: /opt/OpenFOAM-1.5/bin/foamCleanPath: No such file or directory
bash: /opt/OpenFOAM-1.5/bin/foamCleanPath: No such file or directory
bash: /opt/OpenFOAM-1.5/bin/foamCleanPath: No such file or directory

But the directory etc/bashrc does exist. Could you give me hint.
Thanks in advance

Best regards,
Eduardo

Greetings Eduardo and welcome to the forum!

Quick answer: My guess is that you have more than one OpenFOAM version installed. If this is the case, then read this wiki page + section: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/In...ment_Variables

Best regards,
Bruno

Thank you for replying.

Yes, I have another version of OF on my computer. That is the problem then.
I'll take a look at the shell environments and OF's alias.

Best regards
Eduardo
