You can make a coarse mesh in blockMesh, run decomposePar, then run refineMesh or refineHexMesh in parallel to bring it up to the desired resolution.

You gave the summary answer to Dr Borse. I wanted for him to go search how it can be done, which is described in the thread I indicated before
