first of all thanks for your quick reply. In a first moment I have done exactly what you said me to do. However, I could not find a way to mesh it properly. Once the axis were not aligned with the edges I wanted to grade the mesh grading became poor. The divisions did not replicate from one edge to another properly. So the way I found to fix it was align the edges which make the angle with the x1 and x2 axis, according to the User's Guide. Then I was able to have a proper graded mesh. The only issue was an error with the outlet patch which was fixed by ordering the vertices in an anti-clockwise way (which is wrong, and that is my question). But I will consider what you have said and I will try to find another strategy to do such thing. I agree this is not the best way to create a wedged block. finned pipe blockMesh error
4 Attachment(s)
Hi all,
I hope my post is fitting in this thread, if not please move it to a better place. I'm trying to mesh a multiregion case with blockMesh to be used with chtMultiregion* solver. The geometry is an axial segment of finned pipe (blue color) surrounded by air (red color) see attachment. At the moment I concentrated my attention only in meshing the "air" part, so the blockMeshDict in attachment is regarding only the air region. When I run blockMesh I obtain the attached log which shows the same error kind entitling this thread. Commenting out blockMeshDict at line 394 (last face of "aria_front" patch), the mesh is generated. Although I spent a lot of time in front of paraFoam and paraFoam -block I am not able to understand what I'm doing wrong  . Does anybody have an idea? Thank you Gianluca |
