Dear All,

I need to create a multilayer mesh in NetGen. I do that by creating each layer separately then merging them together. But when I use the mesh in a another software for simulations, it seems that only top layer is recognized by the software and other layers are not detected at all.

Could anyone help me with this issue?

Thanks very much.

Vincent

Hi,
You can definitely do this with Netgen. You basically specify some boolean operations with polyhedra in the netgen (.geo) format. You can use the free Sketchup Meshkit Extension to do this with a GUI, or by hand with a text editor. A simple example file is attached (change the extension from *.txt to *.geo to try it out in netgen to see how it works!
Kind regards,
Peter
