Hi everybody,

This is a newbie question. From previous discussions I can see that OpenFOAM just can handle 3D meshes. Am I right?. This means that I need to generate all my meshes in 3D. It's not possible to export a 2D mesh?.

Thanks for your help,

I think that depends on which other mesh program you use. I had a 2D mesh from gmsh which I tried to convert and there after extrude in OpenFOAM. But my 2D mesh from gmsh wasnt recognizable to the foam converter. (something with the order of cells beeing placed in an unorderly fashion).

I chose to extrude my mesh in gmsh insted and there after convert it.
