Hi there,

I'm currently trying to convert a 3D geometry (and its respective mesh) that I created in Gmsh into OpenFoam using gmshToFoam. Im pretty new to both programs, so sorry in advance if I'm just being a bit slow.
The problem I'm getting is the following

/*---------------------------------------------------------------------------*\

Build : 1.6-53b7f692aa41
Exec : gmshToFoam Batmodel.msh

Time : 15:39:00
Host : kestrel
PID : 15888
Case : /projects/arc06
nProcs : 1
SigFpe : Enabling floating point exception trapping (FOAM_SIGFPE).

cannot open file

file: /projects/arc06/system/controlDict at line 0.

From function regIOobject::readStream()
in file db/regIOobject/regIOobjectRead.C at line 62.

FOAM exiting

So far I've taken files for controlDict from tutorials. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

Hi Arc

You need to be in your case directory, e.g. damBreak in the interFoam-tutorial folder. It seems that you have your gmsh-file somewhere else. This is quite alright, however to excute, you need to excute gmshToFoam from the case directory and then point of the gmsh file, which can be anywhere you have read access.

Hope this helps,

Niels
