GambitToFoam segmentation fault

Hello!

I have a problem converting a mesh from Gambit. When I type:

gambitToFoam ... .neu

I get a segmentation fault. I found several topics describing the same problem and the answer was to save the mesh as a fluent mesh in .msh. This way I have no problem converting it, but in my domain I have a porous zone and I am not able to select "POROUS" when I work in gambit with fluent 5/6 solver.

What is the best way to solve the problem?

Thank you,

Yuri

hi
If you want to simulate a porous case you must choose your standard solver first for example simplePorousFoam ( for steady laminar or turbulent flow) then in your case directory and your constant folder file you must specify your porosity and transfer properties.
I suggest you to read this article. I think it is useful for you

good luck

dear Yuri
I have a same simulation and I want to specify just a region of my case as a porous medium.someone told me i must use topoSetDict and I have a problem myself. I hope you learn more and give me a hint for my problem
