khalifa is on a distinguished road
Hi people ,

I am trying to convert a mesh I already built in Ansys workbench to use it in openfoam and I am getting errors. I read here some previous similar cases but nothing could solve my error.

this is what I am getting :

--> FOAM FATAL IO ERROR:
cannot find file

file: /home/khalifa/OpenFOAM/khalifa-2.3.1/run/tutorials2/system/controlDict at line 0.

From function regIOobject::readStream()
in file db/regIOobject/regIOobjectRead.C at line 73.

FOAM exiting

I converted to ascii already and nothing changed .

your kind help will be much appreciated

vasava will become famous soon enough
I guess you know this already but you can try this trick if you haven't. This trick ensures that the mesh exported from Ansys Meshing is in ASCII format.
  1. Open Ansys Meshing.
  2. Go to tools -->options (this will open a new options window).
  3. Go to Meshing-->Export. Expand Ansys Fluent and select ASCII for Format of Input File (*.msh).

Although the change should be effective immediately but you can restart workbench in case it does not work.
