checkMesh : Mesh non orthogonality

Dear Foamer,

Can someone explain me what is mesh non orthogonality ? Maybe with a picture?

Because I have this information in checkmesh and this is giving me troubles.

Thanks for your help.

Hello, did you get any answer to your question?

Dear,

I have now finished my thesis and have therefore not touched OpenFoam in a while.

From what I remember, non orthogonality is not simple mathematically speaking. It's in fact the angle difference between two adjacent cells.

In my case, I looked at this problem with my advisor because I thought I had very high non orthogonality figures. After looking at the mesh, nothing was wrong so we wondered if there was not a slight problem in the way OpenFoam is computing this value ...

Now, take my word with caution since I don't remember exactly what my problem was neither the answer I received from my advisor.

Sorry not being able to help you more.

best
