I have made the geometry and have meshed it in Gambit (in 2D ).

I applied the boundary zones in the following way.

1. Water Pipes -- Wall BC.

2. One Edge as --Mass Flow Inlet

3. another edge as --Pressure Outlet

When i export it to Fluent, it loads properly but when i go to specify the boundary conditions at these zones. The 'mass flow inlet' and 'pressure outlet' zones are not listed there.

May i add i am new to CFD. So, your help will be greatly appreciated. Its my final year project.

Thanks in advance.

-mAx- will become famous soon enough
OpenFOAM isn't supposed to recognize the kind of BC you set up, but it will recognize the patch name you gave in Gambit.

I see but for some reason it was not even recognizing all the patch names.

However, i am now using ANSYS 12.0 to solve the case and i am facing another difficulty. I am new to CFD analysis and i cant seem to figure out how to use wall BC to simulate heat transfer between two fluids.

I am analyzing the heat transfer between two fluids separated by a metal pipe. I am using the wall boundary condition to separate the fluids. However, i am unable to understand how to use the wall BC.

Can anyone help me with this? any examples or tutorials than can be of help? Thanks in advance!
