choosing refinement direction SnappyHexMesh

Is there a way to chose refinement direction in snappyHexMesh when refining searchableBox (or searchableObject in general) ?

It is possible in refineMesh with the help of tan1 (1 0 0) tan2 (0 1 0) and normal=tan1^tan2.... but refineMesh is more restricted
