Sharp edges not being refined properly

4 Attachment(s)
Hello,

I'm new to snappyHexMesh and I've read through the snappy user guide as well as all relevant cfd-online posts. I am trying to make a mesh for a two nozzle impinging spray. The mesh will include one of the nozzles and a symmetric boundary on the plane where the jets collide. There is a second symmetric plane through the nozzle to minimize cell count. For now I am working with a single refinement cylinder of level 4 around the nozzle.

I am using explicit edge / feature snapping with surfaceFeatureExtract. The two primary problems that I am observing are,
1. Rounding of some sharp edges
2. Disruption of the symmetric plane

Attached are some screenshots of the current mesh snappyHexMesh is generating. There is a refinement cylinder with a refinement level of 4 around the nozzle. The snappyHexMeshDict is also attached. Any help is welcome!

Thanks,
Eli

I must say that edge problem looks like nothing I've seen before. Have you tried previewing the extracted feature lines and checking that they are correct?

(use
Code:

surfaceFeatureConvert constant/triSurface/ImpingingJet0.eMesh ImpingingJet0.obj
and open the .obj file in paraview).

Yes, the extracted lines look to be right on.

Hmmm.. Any chance of you uploading your geometry then?
