i don't understand the effect of enabling / disabling of allowFreeStandingZoneFaces, according to this picture,
can anybody explain it more?

Hello, did you ever find out what the effect of this is? Especially which one affects mesh quality badly?

Notice the additional black "lines" on the left picture.
if kept (=true), then these Face Zones can cause mesh quality problems.

In the tutorial annularThermalMixer, execute upto snappyHexMesh (remove the lines for baffle creating in the Allrun script), one time with allowFreeStandingZoneFaces=true and another time with allowFreeStandingZoneFaces=false and compare the results/meshes.
in false there are no rotorBlades - patch and no statorBlades - patch.

See attached pictures.
Also notice, when true there are some meshfaces at the upper border. I think these make the mesh quality more worse.
