snappyHexMesh uses tet cells for internal mesh!

Hi Foamers,

I have a question about snappyhexmesh. Actually I have used this utility several times. I think it is possible to create hexa cells on boundary faces but for internal mesh this utility uses tetra cells. For example, Take a look at igloo test case (version 2.2.2). There are some hexa cells on boundary faces (picture1) but when I create a slice I can not find any hexa cells!!!(picture2) (Please correct me if I am wrong). How can I create hexa cells for internal mesh by using snappyhexmesh ?

I appreciate your help.
Best regards,
Sasan.

Quick answer:
  1. Make sure the VTKPolyhedron option is turned on in ParaView.
  2. Use the filter "Extract cells by region".
