[snappyHexMesh] snaapyHexMesh or cfMesh

Hi Friends,

i'm really new in OpenFoam and i have 3 questions:

1- Is snappyHexMesh better or cfMesh?
2- How can i install the snappyHexMesh? (I have cfMesh in my system but i dont like it and i can finde more Tutorials or Videos about snappyHexMesh in Internet)
3- Wich one is better for dynamik Mesh (2D Mesh)

Dear Jsmoka,

I will answer short and clear:

1. I am using sHM for years now. It's good and I could mesh everything till now. However, cfMesh is faster because of a better programming style and as far as I knew, the layer generation is much better. So I think it is worth to try or start with cfMesh. I am too lazy to check it out (unfortunately).

2. If you install/compile OpenFoam you have it already.

3. Dynamic Meshes should not be related to these meshers.

Thank you very mach but my problem is, i dont know what should i do as a first step.

i have NACA aerofoil an i wanna make a mesh around ist.

The aerofoil ist stl-ascii format but i dont know what should i do as first step?

It is a bit late but you should read the user guide. SnappyHexMesh is explained there.
