Snappy parameters "translation"
 

Hello everybody

I am working with snappyHexMesh since some month. Everything went fine so far but I have some questions to the parameters in the snappyHexMeshDict. Maybe I don't need them but I want to understand them. I looked at many threads but couldn't find an answer. So hopefully somebody knows what they mean!

- maxLocalCells; how can I estimate how many cells fit on a processor?
- in the layerControlls:
-maxFaceThicknessRatio
-maxThicknessToMedialRatio
-minMedialAxisAngle; what is the medial axis?

maybe somebody has a visual description for these parameters since I just don't want to play around with them in order to get a correct mesh. I would be a great help!
