snappyHexMesh or BlockMesh ? What`s the most effective choice ?

Dear Foamers and mesh experts,

I`m trying to mesh a dust separatorand (2D- Geometry). I' m wondering what could be the most effective method for meshing/ modelling the geometry. the mesh should look like in the 2nd picture, what is a scan from my cfd-tutorial book. Creating the mesh with block mesh would probably take half a day or more with over 50 blocks of graded and non graded mesh cells. Now my idea ist to generate the geometry with salome, export it in an stl- File and generate the mesh using snappyHexMesh. Is this a more effective way or should I do the "hardcoding" option typing the hole thing in blockMesh ?

Thank you for your help,

Jan
