Hi everybody,

When I had a closer look at my mesh in paraView i found some strange looking cells, first it looked like SHM had created an isolated piece of geometry outside the cell as seen in picture 1.
When it was remeshed with the surface refinement lowered one step there was trouble with cells cutting through the stl surface instead, like in picture 2 and 3.
Does it mean that there are quality issues with the stl file?
The stl is directly exported from CATIA and visulally it looks fine in paraView, could there be problems with for example the surface normals or is there a problem in snappyHexMesh or paraview?

Thankful for all comments!

Hello,

I'm having similar problems with my simple geometry
http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...ical-pipe.html

Are you having FOAM Warning: Displacement .... messages during sHM process?

Best regards,
Jakub.

Hi Jakub,

I know it has been a while since you posted this thread. However, have you finally found the source of the warning and hopefully solved the problem? I am having a similar warning problem now during my snap process. Thank you.
