snappyHexMesh Skewness error
1 Attachment(s)
Hi everybody,
I'm trying to successfully mesh a complex geometry including some nozzles with snappyHexMesh. Although everything seems to work smoothly and all boundaries out of the .stl files get added, one error always remains that is: ***Max skewness = 5.30808, 5 highly skew faces detected which may impair the quality of the results <<Writing 5 skew faces to set skewFaces Although I tried to play around with some parameters in the snappyHexMeshDict, it won't get better. For example increasing the max refinement level from 4 to 5 will even increase the number of highly skew faces from 5 to 7. Using "refineWallLayer" did not help either. So is there any possibility to avoid highly skewed (sur)faces? By the way, the snappyHexMeshDict file is attached. The .stl file was a 2D Triangular Mesh from Salome, if that info is useful. Since other posts did not help, any help would be appreciated. |
This Error is not crucial. You can start and run the calculation with this minor problem.
It is also possible to view these skewed faces in paraview via include sets. |
