[snappyHexMesh] Strange distance-based refinement

I am trying to use two levels of distance-based refinement in relation to a surface. It seems like I've done this successfully before, but all of the sudden I cannot get this strange behavior to go away.

I've attached my snappy dict and an image of the refinement.

Thanks for any hints.

Hi,

everything is fine with your refinement.
It's just the way you visualize the mesh.

Instead of "slice" try this:
Apply the Extract Cells By Region filter, check the boxes for "Extract only intersected" and "Extract intersected".
