Dear all,

I am curious if the following can be accomplished with the existing tools. I have tried to find it myself, but without succes.

A first simulation (simpleFoam) gives me a flowfield which I would like to use in a second simulation. However, this second simulation is performed on a subdomain of the first one. However, I would like the second mesh not to be a subset of the first mesh, as the boundaries of the second and the faces of the first may not coincide. Interpolation (preferrably higher order?) from the solution on the first mesh to the new mesh is what I am looking for.

Can anyone help?
Or suggestions on how to write a custom tool to achieve this?

Regards,
Lense

Apparently mapFields does do exactly that. I had its functionality pictured otherwise.

Thanks anyway.
Cheers,
