Hi Christian,

in the OF-spirit, the searchable objects are runtime-selectable. Therefore you can create your own, e.g. truckGroup, and link it to the mesh generator at runtime. truckGroup would then read a list of position out of the dictionary.

Alternative, if this stretches your C++ knowledge, I would suggest to use the m4 macro-preprocessor.

Hello Henrik,

you are right, this would be a very good starting point to get into coding my own extensions, since I'm sure that this is a rather simple problem. The m4 option looks to me like the least comfortable solution because as far as I understand m4, getting it to support loops takes some effort.
Anyway, I've heard a rumor that tools for grouping/ replicating geometries in the snappyHexMeshDict have been implemented but not yet documented.
