Hi emirust

I tried to find if there is a way, and there really does not appear to be one apart from calling refineMesh every time.

Ok! It serves my purpose, so why not!

Do anyone have an idea on how to automate this? I use topoSet to select a box of cells where I want the refinement, but then I would like to select a smaller box for another refinement, and then another box in this one etc... This has to be repetated maybe 8 times.
I guess the solution is not to use a topoSetDict, but call the utility directly in the command prompt. I was expecting something like this to work:

topoSet thenameoftheset new boxToCell (xmin ymin zmin) (xmax ymax zmax)

but I get an error "syntax error near unexpected token `(' "

Thanks!

Is your mesh pure hex?
Hi Mattijs,

I know this is an old post. Can you please explain where to switch on the debug switch for hexCellLooper? Is this still valid for OpenFoam v2.3.0?

Another thing is if I want to refine cells alligned with a cylindricalWall in three directions (i.e. normal and vertical directions), how do I define the patchLocal coordinate system in the refineMeshDict?
I've been trying hard to understand the description in the OpenFoam wiki but I still don't get it.

Best
