Hello foamers,
Im working with the dynamic mesh refinement known from i.e. the dambreak-case (dynamicRefineFvMesh.C) and everything works fine as long as i create a 3D-case. I want to simulate a 2D-case with "empty"-type boundaries, but when i do so it wont work, because the count of cells is not equal to the count of faces (seems to be the restriction for 2D-cases). So i would like to refine the cells just in the xy-plane to solve my problem. Is there a simple method to do so? Best regards, Michael |

Hallo at all,
I am interested in the same problem. I would like to use dynamicRefineFvMesh to increase the mesh-refinement at the detonation front in detonation simulations. In order to reduce the number of cells i'd like to refine the mesh only in two directions (as it is possible in the static version refineMesh). I know already that the refinement is done by hexRef8.c, but i do not really know what is going on there. Does somebody have experiences with this or any idea how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance! Victor |
