Meshing for Streamlined Objects, i.e. aerofoils, bullets, rockets, ...

Hi all!
I would like to know if there is a way of generating a mesh for this kind of objects with blockMesh or snappy, directly, which gives the user control on orthogonality at wall, besides clustering at leading and trailing edges (or base). Some colleagues of mine are validating some commercial softwares and would like to take the step into OpenFOAM, but are a bit "scared" on the meshing process. I know we could always go to OpenSource meshers but, besides programming our own generator, we would like to give a go to OpenFOAM tools. I've taken a look at the airfoil2D tutorial, but the mesh has been generated and there is no blockMeshDict. Any help or pointing towards forum entries will be welcomed. Thanks! |

Thanks Colin!
I see you were quite active in that post. From the last pictures shown by that guy you helped, I am still wondering if I can get orthogonality around aerofoil without "playing" with point distribution between wall and inlet "arc". I assume that guy was talking about a C-H mesh for 2D aerofoils. I'll give it a go and let you know. cheers! |
