stitchMesh problems along patch edges
1 Attachment(s)
I would like to merge a tet mesh and a hex mesh, where the tets are inside a hole in the hex mesh; think of it as a smaller cylinder inside a larger one. I thought stitchMesh could be used for this kind of operation.
To get familiar with stitchMesh I first created a small test problem: a cube where I made one quarter tets and the rest hex; see attached image. I created one patch for the interface for each mesh type, exported one tet mesh and one hex mesh, run mergeMesh without problems and then tried stitchMesh. Here, however, I run into a problem along the edge. Searching the forum this was discussed long time ago without any clear solution. I tried some alternatives without success, like creating two separate interfaces and merge them one after the other. Any suggestions on how to proceed? Or is this still unresolved? Regards, Rickard |

did you made any progress on this topic? I'd like to handle geometry similar to yours. |
Nope, unfortunately. Tried different ways by changing ordering, merging patches etc. but it seems the corner edges is still an unresolved issue.
