Duplicate point found in cut face - stitchMesh - problem

Dear Foam-Community,

i am facing the following error, using stitchMesh:

"Duplicate point found in cut face. Error in the face cutting algorithm for global face 4(1199 ...)"

I generated a mesh, using blockMesh, consisting of three regions. Therefore duplicated points are necessary, to define those regions through different blocks (same with the accompanying patches). There are two meshes, i need to merge and stitch. To stitch them, I used the "createPatch"-tool, to form one inlet- and outlet-patch from three (caused by three regions).
Merging is fine, stitching produces the mentioned error.

Does anyone have an idea, how to solve this problem?

Regards,

Martin

Hello Martin,

I have the same problem. Three regions and the error message of Duplicate points when I try to stitch the faces.
Did you find out how to solve it?

Thanks,

Ignacio

Duplicate point found in cut face.

Hello Martin and Ignacio,

I am facing the same problem. Have you resolved it?

I know this is an old thread but for future use, I mention my experience for this error.
I had the same error with my blockMesh. In my case, I did not define the edges well . After well defining the edges ( for circle in geometry) the problem was solved.

Hope it helps.

I am using SALOME 8.2 for meshing Mixing Tank geometry (stator and rotor). What do you mean by 'defining edge well'. How do i follow same in salome? Do i need to extract edges in my mesh with salome?

Hi

Over here: https://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/op...ate-point.html

Try the "-perfect" option when the mesh fits perfectly.

Hope it helps!
